The Last Thing

Autumn Leaves Shining
The last thing I saw before I closed my eyes,
Was an autumn leaf shining-
The sunlit gold grazing its auburn silhouette
Nudging it awake-
Wake up, its not your time yet.

The last thing I remember when I finally exhaled,
Was that you were real and not a dream,
Yet, I was cautious, just in case you vanished
As a figment of my imagination;
And you did! Before I could prove that you were cherished.

The last thing I said before my lips fell silent,
Were whispered words - 'I am sorry' or was it...
While the film played over and over in my mind
Of the conscious unconscious hurts, true lies-
That untrue truths bind.

The last thing I held in the palm of my hand,
Before I clenched my fist, unable to let go
Was a breath of air, caught, as the winds whisked past
And I know it was in there, bound, unwilling and weightless
And still, I was obsessed with making it last.

The last thing I felt before I could feel no more,
Was the cold hard texture of the ice I held
Reminding me of the time ticking away
As it weighed, melted, waited and died
Before I could even form the words I had to say.

The last thing I heard before I gave up listening,
Was my own voice ringing in my head
Like the low rumble that can be heard for miles
Slicing through thunder, fire crackers and alarm bells,
Asking whether I remember myself in the silken tangle of webs

The last thing I reach for, before my soul transcends,
Is still a dream, a dream that failed to die;
And life continues to trip me over floods of tears
Shattered splinters of broken hearts,
Massacred dreams and rekindled fears-

But the last thing I'll do before I live no more,
Is to wear my bracelet of stars
And walk down the aisle of autumns and springs
Learning each day to embrace the night
And relive every single moment that this life brings.

3 Innovative New Ways To Make Maggi Noodles: My Personally Tried And 'Tasted' Maggi Noodle Recipes

Everyone loves Maggi Noodles but most people hate experimenting with something so good and stick to the traditional way of making these 2 minute noodles. Not so very long ago, I was completely orthodox myself when it came to making these noodles and in fact I was such a stickler for rules when it came to making them that I would time my cooking time to exact 2 minutes, not a second more nor less. Yet all that changed one fine day.

I was out on a trek with some of my closest friends and the dinnertime meal was supposed to be Maggi noodles. I absolutely hated the fact that when we picked up our chits (that was how we designated individual chores), I was the nominated dishwasher and my dear friend M, the cook!

It was bad enough that I was to do the dishes but what made it completely worse was the fact that M was very clearly in the mood the experiment, something equivalent to the gravest sacrilege in my mind, especially when it comes to making Maggi.

He begged and begged me to try it, t…

How Rujuta Diwekar Broke 4 Of My Fitness Myths!

Yes, as always I am a lagger when following trends and I have only recently laid my hands on celebrity weight loss consultant Rujuta Diwekar's 'Don't Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight' courtesy of a dear friend B. Yet, I must say, I did hear a lot about the person behind Kareena Kapoor's size zero figure but since I was never in the 'size zero' rat race, I had never really delved deeper into the topic.

Recently though, I stumbled upon Rujuta Diwekar's official website and Youtube channel and while I was surfing through the portals (one link led to another and then yet another), I learnt a lot of things about some misheld fitness myths that I had clung on to for all of these years. Now that Rujuta Diwekar has managed to convince me otherwise by busting some of my most 'holy grail' like precious fitness myths, it is time for me to test them out. Watch this space to know more about my sucess or failure in the near future, following her weight loss ad…

The Ultimate Outlook Guide On 2015's Top Mutual Funds: Your Cheat Sheet To This Year's India Investments

So, have you started your SIPs (Systematic Investment Plans) yet? Even if the answer is yes already, I am sure you are ready for more. I find SIPs to be ridiculously addictive, especially because the total amount you expend on them nets out to be such a small percentage of your monthly incomes. And SIPs cater to the ultimate savings objectives, for you might not be able to save with all your loans and purchases, but setting aside just a few bucks for a SIP each month means you don't even feel the pinch of your big fat savings goals (which of course the total sum becomes as you keep counting the months and years).

Why Mutual Funds?

Well, I did start off the article assuming you knew about SIPs and Mutual Funds, but in case you are an absolute 'green behind the ears' layman, here's a little break down for you, before we move on to the important fund selection bit. Investments in mutual funds is similar to investing individually on the stock market, except for while you w…
